to Barry-Wehmiller
Stanford Products, of Salem, IL, USA, a manufacturer of shrink sleeve label converting equipment, has been acquired by Barry-Wehmiller Companies of St. Louis, MO, USA. The acquisition is Barry-Wehmiller’s fifth this year. Stanford Products will be integrated with Accraply, a division headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, USA, to create a nearly $50 million company in labeling technology with multiple locations in the US and Canada.
For more than 60 years, Stanford Products has been a manufacturer of slitting, rewinding and inspection equipment for the packaging and converting industries. In addition, Stanford has a major position in machinery for the manufacture of shrink sleeve labels, which complements Accraply’s presence in this expanding market segment.
“Combining the Stanford business with Accraply’s extensive capabilities will greatly enhance our position in the growing shrink sleeve label market and will expand our product offerings in both our new and traditional label and converter markets,” says Accraply President Greg Tschida.

The Stanford acquisition marks the 42nd for Barry-Wehmiller in the last 20 years and will result in annual revenues topping $1 billion for the first time in Barry-Wehmiller’s 122-year history. The company also owns Paper Converting Machinery Company (PCMC) in Green Bay, WI, USA, which manufactures Webtron and other narrow web converting machines.
